Donald Horner, LLP
Donald Horner, MA, LLP is an experienced clinician who works with adults of all ages, couples, and groups. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, both from Western Michigan University. He completed the Family Treatment Program at Hazelden in Center City, Minnesota in 1982.
Since 1977, Donald has practiced in a variety of settings ranging from hospitals, colleges, and private practice including psychiatric intake work. His years of experience give him the capacity to understand and process whatever issues you may bring. He writes, “Making the decision to change is never easy. Making plans in a safe, private place with someone committed to your success is a simple first step. I believe you have the answers; my job is to help you ask the right questions.”
He also works successfully with couples, repairing and strengthening their relationships. He has a long history of addictions treatment for gambling and substance abuse. He also works with those who struggle with depression and anxiety. He writes, “I work well with healthcare professionals – we are a tough bunch!” Don also works with first responders, debriefing, as well as individual/couple issues they may bring. As a veteran, he has a unique understanding of veterans and their families.
Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (and other modalities), Don is a Certified Trauma Specialist and particularly skilled in the area of Codependency and Family Treatment.
