Health Insurance – How it works:
If you have health insurance, we will be happy to check the details of your benefits before your first visit. We will do our best to provide you with your deductible and/or co-payment and/or co-insurance amount in advance. As health insurance companies remind you, coverage quoted is not a guarantee of payment. You are ultimately responsible for all fees, if your insurance does not pay. We’ve found however that there is seldom a problem.
There are various different rates for the range of services provided at Comforts of Home Counseling. The specific services are determined on a client specific basis determined by the client and the clinician. If you have questions regarding specific fees, please ask your clinician or talk to our office staff and they will be happy to answer your questions.

Comforts of Home Counseling can provide services as an “Out of Network” provider.
Comforts of Home Counseling may not be on panel with your commercial insurance and if that is the case, the services may be billed as an “out of network” (OON) provider. Insurance companies may or may not have different deductibles for OON providers. We will be happy to bill those insurance companies for you, but you will be responsible for paying the costs of the services and your insurance company can send payment to you directly.
Comforts of Home Counseling will bill privately if someone chooses not to use their insurance.
Although we take insurance if that makes sense for your situation, we have a number of clients who choose not to use insurance. Some clients have concerns about the degree of privacy that can be maintained once a claim makes its way to a huge managed care company. Others do not wish to be given the mental illness diagnosis that all providers must assign them if they are filing an insurance claim.
Give the Comforts of Home Counseling office a call if you have questions regarding payment or insurance coverage. Our office staff will be more than happy to help you.
